LESBOS South - Lambou Myloi

Seven villages, ( Keramia, Sykounta, Ippios, Asomatos, Mychou, Kato Tritos and Lambou Myloi ) each with its individual history and beauty, comprise the Municipality of Evergetoulas, which has been named after the river that dominates the area. At the heart of the municipality, on the junction of the Mytilene-Kalloni – Mytilene-Gera highway at Dipi-Larsos there is a very important wetland rich in rare flora and fauna attracting birdwatchers and botanists.

During the summer months the municipality organises many cultural events for the enjoyment of locals and visitors.

Lampou Milloi is a small village app. 16 km away from Mytilini situated on the main artery road that links Mytilini and Kalloni which runs through the village . The name of the village comes from the four old watermills and a water -powered  olive press that used to operate in the area. From here you can get a direct short cut to Karini , the famous riverside where Theofilos the naïve painter had made his home for a short while.

Sights of interest are the remains of the Roman Aqueduct in the location Paspapawhich carried  water to the town of Mytilene from the springs of Mt. Olympos.

The village is surrounded with verdant country side since it is located in the middle of the pine forest, the olive groves and the green low lands. It also it benefits from distant views of the Gulf of Gera.
